IS200RAPAG1BCA: The Later-Revision G1B Rack Power Supply

Revision letters are easy to ignore until the day they are the whole conversation. The IS200RAPAG1BCA is the BCA revision — the latest of the three G1B revisions we carry — of GE's RAPA Rack Power Supply Board, part of the Mark VI-era Speedtronic IS200 hardware family. Functionally it is the heart of a GE Innovation Series board rack: it receives a 48 V DC square-wave input at 25 kHz from an external supply and regulates it into the DC control voltages delivered to every other board in the rack over the P1 backplane connector. Vendor documentation for this exact revision also describes its role in the rack's power-on and reset signaling, with a documented open-collector reset output — which is why a sick RAPA sometimes presents not as a power failure but as a rack that has power and refuses to wake.

Measure First: Using the Faceplate Test Points

The fastest way to keep from buying a board you do not need is the access opening on the RAPA's two-slot faceplate, which exposes four test points — documented as P5, P15, N15, and DCOM. With the rack energized and a meter in hand:

• Rails present and steady: the supply is doing its job. A rack that still misbehaves has a board, backplane, or reset-signal problem — not a RAPA problem.
• Rails low or absent with the IPOK LED lit: input power is valid but regulation is not. Now you are choosing between a failed RAPA and a downstream short pulling a rail down — pull non-essential boards from the rack (de-energized between steps) and re-measure. Check the onboard 1 A, 250 V fuse as well.
• IPOK dark: stop — the 48 V, 25 kHz feed is not reaching the board. The external supply that generates it, and the wiring in between, own this fault. Replacing the RAPA will not move the needle.
• MPOK as the tiebreaker: the module power OK LED summarizes the output side; note its state alongside your measurements. LED states plus test-point readings make your RFQ — and your fault call — far more precise.

Revision Chains: BAA, BBA, BCA — What to Match

The part number stacks up as IS200 + RAPA + G1B + BCA: hardware generation, function code, configuration group, revision block. Group first: G1B is not documented anywhere we trust as interchangeable with G1A, so the group on your installed board's label is binding. Revision second: within G1B the chain runs BAA to BBA to BCA, and the trailing block tracks the board's functional and artwork revision state. Some sites standardize on latest-revision replacements; others require exact-revision matches per their configuration management — we stock along the chain, so tell us your policy and we will quote to it.
