Why Does One Feedback Board Need Three Cable Outputs?
Open up the back of an EACF and you'll find three DB9 connectors carrying the same voltage and current measurements out to three different places: the M1, M2, and C controllers that make up the EX2100 excitation system's redundant control architecture. IS200EACFG2B generates one set of AC feedback measurements and distributes it three ways so that no single controller failure leaves the regulator blind. In practice, that also means a feedback complaint reported against just one controller is more likely a problem with that specific DB9 cable than with the board itself, which is feeding all three from the same measurement circuit.
What It Measures and How
This is the G2 version of GE's Exciter AC Feedback board, built for a nominal 1000 Vrms three-phase input — a different voltage class from the G1 (roughly 480 Vrms) and G3 (roughly 1300 Vrms) versions, and not interchangeable with either. It measures the exciter's three-phase AC supply voltage, stepped down through onboard potential transformers to a nominal 1.6 V rms signal, and current, sensed through flux/air-core coils and filtered against high-frequency noise, then reports both to the EX2100 regulator to keep generator field excitation stable.

Before You Order, Rule Out the Cheaper Fixes
- Check PT fuses and field wiring ahead of the board before assuming a measurement channel has failed internally.
- Test each of the three DB9 cables to the M1, M2, and C controllers individually — a single bad cable looks like a feedback fault on just that controller.
- Inspect the cable run to the EBKP backplane board, which can extend up to 90 meters, for connector or insulation damage.
- Confirm G2 (1000 Vrms) is the correct class for this exciter before treating a regulation issue as confirmation the board failed.
