An IGBT Bridge Fault Alarm Doesn't Always Mean This Board
When an EX2100 excitation cabinet throws a bridge or IGBT-related fault, it's tempting to order the first board in the fault path — usually this one. Before you do, understand the chain: the EX2100's main regulator/control board sends firing commands through the IS200BICLH1B to a Bridge Personality Interface board (BPIA, BPIB, or SCNV), which connects to the actual IGBT power module. A fault can originate at any of those three points. The BICL is the messenger and the temperature/fan monitor in that chain — it isn't the power semiconductor itself, and it isn't the bridge personality board either. Narrowing down which stage is actually reporting the fault before ordering saves you from replacing a healthy board.

IS200BICLH1B is an IGBT Drive/Source Bridge Interface Board for GE's EX2100 excitation control platform — it's built for generator field excitation, not turbine control logic, even though it uses the same IS200 numbering convention as Mark VI. It carries firing commands out to the bridge personality board and returns diagnostic data (current levels, thermal status) to the main controller. It also independently monitors ambient and bridge temperature and interfaces with the cabinet's PWM fan speed control and system fault display.

Use standard anti-static handling and verify the slot before powering down for the swap.

- Confirm which stage is actually faulting — BICL, BPIA/BPIB/SCNV, or the IGBT power module — rather than assuming it's the first board in the chain.
