Soldered Relays, Not Socketed
The DS200TCQCG1B carries several relays soldered directly to the board, responsible for switching internal circuits. Because they're soldered (not socketed), they don't require periodic maintenance — but they also aren't separately field-replaceable. If one of these relays fails, the entire board needs to be swapped or sent out for specialized repair.
What the Board Does
Called both the "RST Overflow Board" and the "Analog IO Expander Board" in GE documentation, it occupies position 4 of the <R>, <S>, and <T> cores, supplementing the TCQA. Among its confirmed functions: supplying excitation voltage for the position LVDTs and converting the digital fuel-flow value requested by the control system into an analog signal.
Cables, Not Just the Board
The TCQC's 34- and 40-pin connectors link to other boards on the core via flat cables. The routing of those cables matters: keep signal cables separated from power cables, and where crossing is unavoidable, cross them at a right angle. Poorly routed cables introduce noise that presents as signal instability, easily mistaken for a board fault.
Diagnose Before You Buy
- Confirm the TCQA on the same core is healthy — the TCQC depends on it to operate correctly.
- Physically inspect the flat cables and their connectors before suspecting the board.
- If the alarm is an out-of-spec voltage on the diagnostic screen, also check the core power supply's (TCPS) fuses and the consistency between the board revisions installed and the system's calibration file.
