Be skeptical of a "bad batch" explanation. Long-time Mark V/EX2000 technicians report that a card position that keeps failing repeatedly is usually a sign of a field device, wiring, voltage, or current problem downstream – not a run of defective boards.

Check the companion card, too. Documented cases exist where a DCFB and its companion LDCC kept failing together and the real cause was a failing capacitor on the LDCC. Since GE never released full schematics for this card generation, a specialized repair shop with card-level test equipment is often the quickest route to a confirmed diagnosis.
