Rule Out the Cheap Fixes First

The RTBA is one of the most field-serviceable boards in the DS200 range, so treat a replacement as the last step, not the first:

• A single relay can be replaced by itself. If the position's LED is lit but the load never switches, pull that relay and substitute a known-good one. If the fault follows the relay, you needed a relay, not a board.
• A dark LED is an upstream clue. No enable at the relay means the command or its power routing never arrived — work back through the RPL cable, the LTBA, and the pilot-relay path.
• Jumpers lie in wait. The card carries moveable Berg-type jumpers, including a power-source selector documented for the K20–K22 group. A spare dropped in with unverified jumper settings will imitate a failure. Match the outgoing board position for position.
• Vibration loosens screws. Chattering or intermittently dropping loads are often nothing more than loose field-wiring terminals. Check torque before checking electronics.

Note also that the RTBA does not live inside the Mark V panel cores <R>, <S>, <T> or <C> — if your troubleshooting map starts at the panel, follow the signal out to the drive or exciter cabinet before pointing at this card.
