Confirm It Is the Board Before You Order

A trip board is one of the most over-diagnosed cards in the Mark V, because almost anything in the shutdown chain produces the same visible result: the unit trips, or it will not come out of trip. Before you condemn the DS200TCTSG1ACC, rule out the look-alikes:

• Was the trip actually commanded? Check the alarm history on the <I> operator interface and the sequence-of-events log. If the control or protection software genuinely called for a trip, the board did its job and the fault is upstream — a process condition, a sensor, or the logic — not the card.
• Is it a single relay? The relays are pluggable and individually replaceable. One chattering or failed K-relay can imitate a dead board. Inspect and reseat before replacing the assembly.
• Field side. The trip solenoids, the hydraulic dump/trip valves and the wiring to the relay contacts fail far more often than the PCB. Confirm coil continuity and the interposing power feeding the board (values per your elementary drawings).
• Connections and neighbours. Reseat the JDR/JDS/JDT and JN/JM ribbon cables, check the mating relay terminal board (RTBA-type), and verify the control power.

Only when a spurious command is confirmed and the relays, wiring and power all check out does the board itself become the prime suspect.
