Eight Connectors, Eight Different Functions
The DS200TCQAG1A concentrates a good part of the analog wiring for a Mark V core. The technical documentation identifies each connector by function: 2PL carries power distribution from the TCPS; 3PL exchanges conditioned signals on the COREBUS with the STCA; JA receives thermocouple inputs and cold-junction compensation; JB talks to the TBQC terminal board; JD carries trip signals to the TCTG; JE exchanges miscellaneous signals with the TCQC; JF receives LVDT/LVDR positions coming from the TBQC; and JG brings in vibration inputs from the TBQB. For anyone tracing a specific signal, this list can save hours of hunting through the wiring diagram.
General Function of the Board
The TCQA is the Mark V's main analog I/O board, present in position 2 of each of the <R>, <S>, and <T> cores. It scales and conditions LVDT, servo-valve, thermocouple, 4-20 mA, vibration, relay-output, pulse, and generator/line signals before sending them on to the rest of the control system.
Before You Disconnect Any Cable
When unplugging a flat cable from the TCQA, always hold it by the connector, never by the ribbon — pulling on the ribbon separates the connector from the cable and creates an intermittent fault that's difficult to diagnose later. Remove all power from the drive before connecting or disconnecting any cable, and when reinstalling, keep the original routing: signal cables running parallel to power cables over a long distance introduce noise that looks like a board fault.
Diagnose Before You Buy
Before requesting a replacement TCQA, it's worth confirming which of the eight connectors the problem signal actually enters or exits through — an issue on the TBQC, the TBQB, or the field sensor itself (LVDT, thermocouple, 4-20 mA transmitter) frequently presents as if it were a TCQA fault, but resolves without swapping the board. Also compare the channel value across the three <R>/<S>/<T> cores: if only one core disagrees, suspicion falls on that core's board.
Reading the Part Number
DS200TCQAG1A is the base (DS200 family, TCQA function, G1 group); DS200TCQAG1ADE is the full revision stamped on the physical label. Always provide the complete code when requesting a quote.
