The 125 V DC Spine of a Mark V Control Panel
GE built the Speedtronic Mark V around a simple power philosophy: one battery-backed 125 V DC bus, fused and distributed from a single place. That place is the <PD> core, and the board that does the work is the TCPD — offered here as a cleaned and tested DS200TCPDG1BDC. External 115/230 V AC and 125 V DC arrive at the core's input terminations; AC-fed panels convert the AC to 125 V DC through a DACA converter before it reaches the TCPD's connectors. The board then distributes fused 125 V DC to the DS200TCPS power supply in each processor core — <R>, <S>, <T>, and <C> — and to the TCEA emergency protection boards on the X, Y, and Z channels of the protective core.
The application documentation also routes several auxiliary feeds through this card: solenoid power for the DTBC and DTBD terminal boards, power for wetted contact inputs on the digital side, AC for the ignition transformers on gas turbine units, a feed that lets the panel monitor <PD> power output itself, and an auxiliary AC input used where a UPS or black start inverter backs the panel. The digital I/O sections take their power through their associated processor core rather than directly from <PD>.
Rule Out These Faults First
The TCPD's fuse indication system makes the first stage of troubleshooting fast — if you read it correctly. Each of the 36 fuses sits inside a twist-open canister with a green OK LED beside it. You cannot visually inspect a fuse without opening its canister, so the LED is your primary indication: lit means the element is intact; dark means the fuse is open or the position is unpowered.

One LED dark: open fuse. Before dropping in a spare, find out why it opened — a shorted solenoid, chafed field wiring, or a failed downstream device will clear the new fuse just as fast.

Every LED dark: the board has no incoming power. Check the battery feed, breaker, and DACA converter output. Replacing the TCPD will not restore a supply that is not arriving.

A core down while its feed checks good: move into the core. The TCPS supply and its ribbon cables are the statistically likely culprits — in one public Mark V field thread, weeks of intermittent <S> core reboots ended with a TCPS replacement after every distribution output had been ruled out.

Ground fault or erratic behavior across all cores: inspect the 125 V DC system beyond the panel. Documented causes include leaking station batteries and external devices sharing the same DC bus; AC ripple from a charger running without its battery produces equally confusing symptoms.
