DS200TCEAG1A: The Jumper-Configured Generation, Not Software
A real difference, confirmed by field engineers, separates the two TCEA generations: the G1B can be configured through the <I> interface using the IO Configurator, while the G1A — this board — doesn't have that capability and must be adjusted manually via Berg jumpers. Before installing a G1A in place of a G1B (or vice versa), confirm your system has the correct configuration files — systems configured for only one type may require replacing all three boards on the <P> core together, not just one.
Where It Operates
The TCEA occupies the Mark V's <P> protective core, together with two other units forming the <X>, <Y>, and <Z> processors. Together, they bring high and low shaft speed signals, flame detection, and auto-synchronizing, processing the overspeed and flame trip conditions that, once confirmed by voting on the Turbine Trip Board (TCTG), trip the unit.
Why We Handle This Board With Extra Care
We won't speculate here about overspeed setpoints, internal trip logic, or test procedures — that information depends on your board's exact revision and your unit's configuration, and should come from the applicable GE manual and your plant's official overspeed test procedure, never from a product page.
Diagnose Before You Buy
- Before energizing the new board, manually replicate the position of every Berg jumper from the old board — on the G1A, that's the only configuration method available.
- Transfer the PROM modules from the old board carefully (anti-static wrist strap, without bending pins) — the new board arrives with empty sockets.
- Check the TCPS fuses before assuming the TCEA is at fault.
- Confirm the integrity of the flat cables and connectors, including signs of corrosion.
