Noise or ripple on the control power bus, including spikes from a battery charger or from de-energizing unsuppressed DC coils near the panel.

A PROM/firmware revision gap. GE published guidance resolving certain IONET communication faults through a PROM upgrade rather than a board replacement.

The TCPS power supply card, not the TCDA itself – check supply voltages at the TCDA before condemning the card.

TCRA relays are electromechanical and wear out with switching cycles; the TCDA is solid-state and doesn't share that wear mechanism. A stuck or chattering relay output points to the TCRA far more often than to this card. On lifespan, there is no fixed retirement age for a TCDA – many run trouble-free for eight years or more, and industry experience puts mean time between failures for Mark V cards generally in the low hundreds of thousands of hours, with cabinet heat, humidity, dust, and voltage transients driving most real failures rather than age by itself.
