The IS215UCCAE03 (IS215UCCAE03A) is a General Electric UCCx-series controller from the Mark VI / IS200 generation. The UCCA is GE's CompactPCI (CPCI) turbine controller — a single-board-computer design that serves as the compute engine running turbine application code, and an alternative to the VME-based UCVx controllers. It runs the QNX Neutrino real-time operating system and communicates over Ethernet with the operator and I/O layers of the control system. At the heart of the UCCA is an Intel x86-class single-board computer with a watchdog timer and two PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC) sites. It provides an RJ-45 10BaseT/100BaseTX Ethernet connection to the Unit Data Highway (UDH) — the network that carries data to the HMIs and other control equipment — along with Ethernet links for the <R>, <S> and <T> I/O network (IONet) and an RS-232C setup port. Time synchronization across the IONet uses the IEEE 1588 protocol to align controllers and I/O packs to within roughly ±100 microseconds. Is It the UCCA — or Something Upstream? Diagnose First
Controllers are expensive to swap on a hunch, and a "dead" UCCA is frequently a symptom of its surroundings. Check these before you buy:

Interrogate the LEDs. Power, reset, flash-disk and Ethernet-status indicators separate a genuinely failed board from a network or download problem.

Confirm rack power and slot position. In the CompactPCI rack the leftmost slot holds the system board; pulling or de-powering it stops the other controllers, which can look like multiple failures.

Reset the real-time clock. A board out of storage may have its CMOS battery jumper open; reinstate it and set the clock (NTP or ToolboxST) before judging the hardware.

Rule out configuration. Firmware/ControlST version mismatches, a partial application download, or IONet addressing errors mimic hardware failure.

Test the network path and I/O packs. A UDH or IONet fault, or a failed I/O pack, can strand a perfectly good controller.
