Precisely because of that, many plants prefer to keep a new TCEA, in factory packaging, ready to install — rather than depend on the turnaround time of testing a reconditioned board when the part involved is part of the equipment's life-safety protection chain.

- Transfer the PROM modules from the old board using an anti-static wrist strap — the new board arrives with empty sockets.
- Verify whether your unit uses a G1 or G2 group TCEA before buying — we haven't found, in an independent technical source, confirmation that the groups are interchangeable with each other without prior validation against the label of the board being removed.
- Confirm the TCPS fuses before considering any board definitively faulty.
