• Look at rack power first. Voltage sag or noise on the supply feeding the rack can generate intermittent checksum or configuration alarms that clear on a clean power cycle.
• Confirm the fault is really the UMB's. Its single LED is a general status indicator, not a detailed self-diagnostic, so cross-check the alarm text and quad against what the UMB actually controls before condemning it.
