DS200PCCAG1A: The Link Between the Command Signal and the Thyristor Bridge
Rather than living in the R/S/T/P logic cores of the Mark V panel, the DS200PCCAG1A works inside the power converter — typically the generator's static exciter or a DC drive on the turbine train. Its job is to translate the firing command coming from the control electronics into gate pulses for the SCR (silicon-controlled rectifier) bridge, usually via pulse transformers. Specialized suppliers describe the G1 group as a regenerative version of the board; we haven't been able to confirm that detail independently against a GE manual, so treat it as third-party reference, not a guarantee of compatibility. What matters in practice: don't swap a PCCA from one group for one from a different group without validating against the old board's label.
The Symptom That Looks Like PCCA — But Isn't
Firing failure on the SCR bridge, overheating, or an overcurrent trip on the converter tend to get pinned on the PCCA right away — but the board is just one piece of the firing path. Before requesting a replacement, it's worth ruling out:

The thyristors (SCRs) themselves and their firing cables — a shorted or open SCR produces symptoms nearly identical to a burned-out PCCA.

The four configurable jumpers (JP1, JP2, WP3, WP4) — these select the armature voltage range and the snubber/voltage-feedback configuration. A replacement board with jumpers set wrong for your application will fail the same way the old one did.

The capacitors and resistors of the snubber circuit, where present on the board — a degraded snubber produces the same voltage spikes as a PCCA fault.

The power supply feeding the assembly — a sag or noise on the supply can be mistaken for a failure of the interface board.
