The Dell BOSS-S2 (Boot Optimized Storage Subsystem) Module Kit for the PowerEdge R350 is purpose-built to handle operating system boot workloads. It supports one or two M.2 SATA SSDs, allowing administrators to configure them in either RAID 1 for redundancy or as individual drives. By offloading the OS to dedicated M.2 storage, it ensures that high-performance front-accessible drive bays remain available for application or data storage. The BOSS-S2 enhances both system reliability and storage efficiency, which is critical in single-socket server environments like the R350.

Designed for easy integration, the BOSS-S2 module in the R350 connects to the system board via a dedicated power and signal interface, minimizing cabling complexity. Its modular design simplifies installation and serviceability while reducing potential points of failure. Whether used in edge deployments, virtualization hosts, or lightweight database servers, the Dell R350 BOSS-S2 Module Kit delivers dependable, streamlined boot storage performance optimized for Dell’s 15th-generation server platform.
