The R620 has three total bay count options. These are 4 Bay SFF, 8 Bay SFF, and 10 Bay SFF. The 4 Bay SFF chassis has two variants with a different number of PCIe slots for each. The R620 supports hot-swap, which means that drives can be added or removed while the server is on.
8 Bay SFF
The 8 Bay SFF chassis supports a total of eight 2.5” SAS, SATA, or SSD drives. There is a total of 3 PCIe slots, that are all low-profile.
10 Bay SFF
The 10 Bay SFF chassis support up to ten 2.5” SAS, SATA, or SSD drives. There is a total of 3 PCIe slots, that are all low-profile.
4 Bay SFF
There are two variants of the 4 Bay SFF chassis that are available. They both accept up to two 2.5” SAS, SATA, or SSD drives. The differences between the two 4 Bay options are that one has 2 PCIe slots and the other has 3 PCIe slots. The chassis with 2 PCIe slots has 1 low-profile PCIe slot and 1 high-profile PCIe slot. For the 3 PCIe slot chassis, all three PCIe slots are low-profile.
