The Cisco UCSC-RNVME-240M5 is a rear NVMe backplane assembly and cable kit manufactured by Cisco for the UCS C240 M5 rack server. Designed in a 2U form factor, it supports PCIe Gen3 interfaces to enable high-speed data transmission consistent with enterprise-level storage configurations.

This NVMe backplane enables support for up to four rear-mounted U.2 or NVMe drives, depending on system configuration and chassis model. It connects directly through included cables to internal RAID controllers or pass-through modules within compatible C240 M5 servers using specific dedicated slots. The unit utilizes standard passive power distribution, integrated into the chassis design, without requiring separate external connections or mounting brackets beyond factory provisions.
