The Cisco Catalyst 9200 Series extends Cisco's Catalyst 9000 intent-based networking to entry campus and branch access, built on the UADP 2.0 Mini ASIC so the hardware carries investment protection as the network grows. The modular-uplink C9200 takes a field-installable network module, so a site can start on 1G uplinks and move to 10G later, and it carries a higher 160 Gbps stack bandwidth than the fixed-uplink C9200L. The C9200-48PL-E is the 48-port partial PoE+ configuration at the Network Essentials tier, carrying a smaller PoE budget than the full-PoE C9200-48P for sites that do not need every port powered at once. Network Essentials covers Layer 2 switching with routed access for a single-tier campus design. Field-replaceable fans and an optional second power supply keep it serviceable in always-on wiring closets.
