Specifying a replacement fan
Fans are specified on five numbers, and a part number match alone is not enough: frame size, airflow (m³/h or CFM), static pressure, supply voltage/frequency and rotation direction. Two fans with the same frame can move very different air at very different noise levels. Rotation and airflow direction (intake versus exhaust) are set at the factory and cannot be reversed by rewiring a single-phase AC fan. If you are replacing a failed unit, send us the full model code from the fan label — for ebm-papst that is the string like W2S130-AA03-71, where the trailing digits change the blade pitch and the performance curve.
High-temperature and obsolete units
Furnace, boiler and inverter fans are often high-temperature rated and are not interchangeable with standard commercial fans of the same size. Many ebm-papst and ZIEHL-ABEGG models are also long superseded; we carry new-old-stock and can identify the current-production successor where a direct replacement no longer exists.
