Milestone Systems XProtect is the open-platform video management software that most of the camera brands in this catalogue are ultimately recorded on. Milestone sells almost entirely through licensing rather than hardware, and getting the licence structure wrong is one of the most expensive mistakes on a surveillance project.

Compatibility notes
The trap in Milestone licensing is the tier boundary. Device Licences are tier-specific — a DL bought for Professional+ will not activate on Corporate, and moving up a tier means re-licensing the base, not just adding devices. Care Plus lapses if it is not renewed continuously; once it has expired, you generally cannot buy it retroactively and have to purchase a new licence at full price to get back onto a supported version. If you are extending an existing XProtect system, send us your SLC (Software Licence Code) and current tier and we will quote what will actually activate, not what merely looks correct on a price list.
