What to include in your RFQ: for DAC/AOC, the switch and NIC platforms at each end (both ends matter for coding), the speed, and the length — DAC is passive and practical to about 5m at 25G/100G, beyond which you want AOC or optics. For power cords, tell us the destination country plug type and the PDU outlet type. For internal cables, send the controller and backplane connector types. Getting cable length and coding right on the first order is what stops a rack build from stalling.

DAC for short in-rack runs (up to ~3-5m) — cheaper, no power draw. AOC for longer runs or where cable bulk and bend radius are a problem.
Can you code a DAC for two different vendors?
Yes — breakout and hybrid-coded DACs are available where one end is a Cisco switch and the other a Mellanox NIC, for example. Tell us both ends.
